In the Masters Qualifying Program (MQP), you will participate in an intensive learning program to prepare you for study at the postgraduate level. This intensive program comprises of four key learning modules designed to ensure you have the skills, competencies and knowledge necessary to undertake postgraduate study in business. In addition, you will further develop your verbal and written communication skills in various contemporary business areas, including finance, organisations, people and culture, and enterprise intelligence in a global business context.

Marketing Skills

The marketing process unit provides an overview of how marketing functions in the business environment, covering market segmentation, branding, and promotion topics. This unit also explores the application of marketing theories to different projects and the concept of marketing as a social system.

Communication Skills in Business

The unit focuses on developing verbal and written communication skills within a business context. In addition, it covers academic research and writing principles, which will be applied to both academic and professional settings, with consideration of non-verbal, intercultural, and ethical issues.

Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting

This unit introduces students to the fundamentals of finance and accounting for business and teaches students how to apply numerical skills in finance and accounting to prepare for postgraduate study. It also emphasises the importance of ethical conduct and best practice reporting in undertaking financial and accounting processes.

Management Fundamentals

This unit introduces the essential principles of management, including operational systems and structures that underpin organisational design, decision-making, and more. In addition, this unit addresses the multicultural dimensions of business management and how leadership styles and social pressures influence human resource management in Australia and globally.
